Sonitus

Sonitus is the production alias of Linus Ymén, based outside Halmstad in Sweden. He begins making music at 15 and continues to treat production as his main hobby. He first works in trance and house, and later moves across a wider range of styles, giving his music a personal character that reflects varied influences.

Style and influences

His music is often difficult to classify neatly, but it commonly combines lounge, jazz and hip hop elements. The range of artists that inform his approach includes Aim, Amon Tobin, Aphilas, Bonobo, Cinematic Orchestra, DJ Krush, Herbaliser, Jazzanova, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Micatone, Mr. Scruff, Portishead, Quantic, Röyksopp, RJD2, Saine, St. Germain, Thievery Corporation and Yonderboi.
