Some Sort Of Threat is an acoustic punk project from Exeter, United Kingdom. It is associated with Rory Matthews, who performs under the name and whose songs draw on acoustic punk rock. The music is influenced by Billy Bragg, The Mountain Goats, Bruce Springsteen and a range of punk bands.

The project plays in a folk punk and punk style with acoustic elements. It gives its first gig in August 2008. It also releases a number of self-issued demos and appears on a split tape on What We Should Be Doing Records with Olive Anne.
