Soda Blonde are an Irish alt-pop band from Dublin, active since 2019. The group consists of Faye O'Rourke, Adam O'Regan, Donagh Seaver O'Leary and Dylan Lynch.

Background

The band forms from the remnants of Little Green Cars, with this project continuing without former Little Green Cars singer Stevie Appleby. Its early material grows out of songs written by O'Rourke while she is still in Little Green Cars.

Style and influences

Soda Blonde describe themselves as an artistic collective. Their music is associated with alternative pop and pop, and they cite influences including Dev Hynes, Lykke Li and Little Dragon. They also describe their sound in terms of the tragic beauty of Karen Carpenter and the pop sensibilities of Annie Lennox.

The group also presents itself as self-producing and visually focused, drawing on Cindy Sherman’s self-portraiture and a Lynchian approach to videography.
