Snuff

Snuff are a UK punk band formed in London in 1986 and active since 1986, although the group splits up in 1991 and reforms in 1994. They are primarily a punk rock band, but also use dub and ska elements in parts of their work.

Line-up and name

The original line-up consists of Duncan Redmonds on drums and vocals, Simon Wells on guitar and vocals, and Andy Crighton on bass and vocals. The name comes from a discussion in which “That’s Enough” is shortened to Snuff.

Label history and influence

Snuff are among the first British punk bands signed to Fat Wreck Chords in the United States. They are also credited with helping to open the way for later UK acts on that label, including Goober Patrol and Consumed.

In a later line-up, the band includes Duncan Redmonds on drums and vocals, Loz Wong on guitar and vocals, Lee Batsford on bass and vocals, Dave Redmonds on trombone, and Lee Murphy on keyboard.
