Snow Burial is an American post-metal collective formed in late 2012 at a Shiner reunion show. The group features former members of Hoss, Canyon and Doctor This Virus Is Silence, and is described as a trio. Their music draws on post-metal, sludge and progressive sludge metal, with influences including the Melvins, Converge and Cult of Luna.

In 2014, the band self-finances and releases two EPs, Oxblood Siren and Oxblood Tides. They develop their sound within the Chicago music scene, sharing bills with War Brides, The Swan King and An Aesthetic Anaesthetic, and later tour across the Midwest with acts including The Gorge, Zebras and Northless.

The band presents itself as an aggressive, emotive and technical project with a dark but colourful sound.
