Sneaky Sound System
Sneaky Sound System is an Australian dance and electronic group that forms in Sydney in 2001. The group’s current members are Connie Mitchell, Black Angus and Nick Broadhurst. It originally includes Black Angus, whose name is Angus McDonald, along with Connie Mitchell and MC Double D, the performing name of Daimon Downey. Downey leaves the group in September 2009 to pursue other interests.
Style and releases
The group’s music sits across dance, electronic, house and pop. Its self-titled debut album appears in Australia in 2006 and reaches double platinum status the following year. The second album, 2, follows in 2008 and produces four singles. A UK edition of the debut album later appears as a self-titled release, but it uses selected tracks from the original Australian Sneaky Sound System album and 2.
Chart success and touring
Sneaky Sound System has chart success in Australia with the singles “I Love It,” “Pictures,” “UFO” and “Kansas City.” The group also tours with Robbie Williams, Jamiroquai, Kanye West and the Scissor Sisters.
Later work
The third album, From Here to Anywhere, is released in Australia in 2011 and includes the singles “We Love” and “Big.” From 2014 onward, the group releases one or two singles each year.
