Snakadaktal

Snakadaktal are an Australian dream pop, indie pop and shoegaze group from Melbourne, Australia, active from 2009 to 2014. The band brings together vocalist, guitarist and keyboardist Sean Heathcliff, vocalist and keyboardist Phoebe Cockburn, guitarist Joseph Clough, bassist Jarrah Mccarty-Smith and drummer Barna Nemeth.

Career

The group forms in Melbourne and wins Triple J Unearthed High in 2011. After that success, they sign to I OH YOU Records. Their self-titled debut EP appears in 2011 and includes the singles “Chimera” and “Air”, both of which receive high rotation on Triple J. The EP reaches number 26 on the digital ARIA charts. “Air” places at number 22 in the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2011, while “Dance Bear” is voted number 93 in the 2012 countdown.

Their debut album, Sleep in the Water, follows in 2013. “Hung on Tight” is released as the first official single from the album, and “Fall Underneath” follows later in the year. In March 2014, the band announces its breakup. Around the same time, it releases a free Bandcamp album containing demos, unreleased tracks and ideas.

After the band

After Snakadaktal, Phoebe Cockburn and Joseph Clough continue making music together under the name Two People.
