Smear

Smear is a techno producer from the United Kingdom, also known as Al Matthews. He is based in Glasgow and heads the partially Glasgow-based label Forward Strategy Group. Under the name Element Abuse, he also produces industrial music.

The name is also used by other acts in different genres, including a hardcore punk band from Sherman, Texas made up of members of Fairbanks, and Smear One, a hip-hop DJ, producer, beatmaker and graffiti artist from Olympia, Washington, who is associated with the New Cocoon crew.
