Slikback is the recording name of Freddy M Njau, a Kenyan electronic music producer from Nairobi. His work sits within deconstructed club, experimental and experimental electronic music, with a sound that draws on global club forms.

Career

Slikback begins releasing music with a debut EP, Lasakaneku, in 2018. The release launches Hakuna Kulala, the offshoot label of Nyege Nyege Tapes. He becomes one of Nyege Nyege’s notable success stories and builds a large catalogue of tracks in a short period after starting to make music only a few years earlier.

Releases

In 2019, he follows Lasakaneku with Tomo, a six-track EP that presents a darker and more agitated version of his club-oriented sound.
