Sleeping Together
Sleeping Together is a Manchester-based indie pop and indie rock group active from 2020. The band consists of Alexander Lloyd-Jones on vocals, Amber Hughes on drums, Ryan Williams on bass guitar and Mike Corry on lead guitar. Jason Javier Dominguez was previously a member as drummer and leaves in July 2024.
Formation and style
The band forms over FaceTime and officially starts in 2022, shortly before the release of its debut single, Summer Girl. Its live performances are described as energetic, and its sound draws on upbeat guitar melodies and a more anxious, angular indie-rock edge. The group’s music uses scratchy guitars and storytelling focused on adolescence, with a tone that reflects both euphoria and heartbreak.
Releases
Sleeping Together releases six singles and one EP. The singles are Summer Girl, Money & Nicotine, Time to Reflect, Daisy (Marc Jacobs), Always In My Head and Someone I Can Love. The EP, I Won't Tell If You Don't, appears in 2024.
Collaborations and live activity
The band has a catalogue of unreleased songs resulting from work with the creatives behind Inhaler’s debut album. It also comes off sold-out shows in Manchester and Liverpool, and its early releases reach 40,000 listens.
