American DJ duo

One Slander is an American DJ duo based in Los Angeles, California, made up of Derek Andersen and Scott Land. Andersen and Land meet at Kappa Sigma, their fraternity at the University of California, Irvine, and later study and graduate from Icon Collective, a music production school, alongside Nghtmre. Andersen says his connection with Tyler, known as Nghtmre, begins when they are placed in the same classroom at Icon Collective. The duo first play for college friends and at local venues.

The name combines parts of the members’ surnames: “S(cott) Land” and “Ander(sen)”. Slander is best known for its “heaven trap” sound, described as a trap-trance hybrid. Its remix of Showtek’s “We Like to Party” helps bring it wider attention, and its remix of Above & Beyond’s “Love Is Not Enough” is also identified with the style. The duo also runs the label Heaven Sent. Its debut studio album, Thrive, is part of its catalogue.
