skyhighatrist is a psychedelic trance artist from the United Kingdom, working in psytrance, darkpsy and related psychedelic styles. His music is described as a “twisted psilocybic mindfunk” built from synthetic sounds, with funky basslines, acidic leads and layered pads.

Style and approach

His work focuses on dark, trippy grooves, using strange noises, distorted samples and what is described as an alien-abduction-like atmosphere. The emphasis is on rhythm, wobble and a playful, surreal approach to psychedelic trance.

Releases and collaborations

skyhighatrist has releases on Cosmogenesis Recordings, Cosmic Flower Records and Faxi Island. He is also signed to Catawampus Records and is associated with a split album with Galactic Monkey titled Strangely Obtuse. He also works on a collaboration with Galactic Monkey called Twisted Gargoyles.

Remixes and other work

He is working on remixes for Error Corrective and Rev, and on material for a morning-oriented psytrance album described as having a “tripping in a field” feel. A live recording from Shamania 2008 is also associated with his work.
