SKisM, real name Tom Petais, is a dubstep producer, DJ and label manager from the United Kingdom. He is often styled as SKisM and is known as a former figure in heavy dubstep and a prominent live mixer.

Career

SKisM is associated with the development of heavy dubstep and is described as one of the scene’s early figures. His tracks receive support from Pendulum, Chase & Status, Scratch Perverts, Rusko, Nero and Plastician. He also remixes artists including Excision and Datsik, and works with UK rappers the Foreign Beggars and Envy.

He is the sole A&R of Never Say Die Records and also manages Never Say Die Black Label. He helps introduce artists such as Zomboy, Eptic and MUST DIE! to a wider audience through the label. He is also formerly known as Dash from Ctrl Z.

Notable work

His best-known track is Experts, a concept track that becomes closely associated with a video that circulates widely online in 2012. It is described as his most significant contribution to the genre.

Later activity

He stops producing music in order to focus on live performance and label work. Black Label closes in 2021, and Never Say Die shuts down in 2022.
