Siva Six

Siva Six is a Greek dark electro and industrial group from Athens. The lineup includes Dimitris N. Douvras, George Z and Noid. The band also works in electro-industrial and electronic styles.

Career

The group signs with Decadance Records in Italy and releases its debut album, Rise New Flesh, in 2005. The album appears in alternative and sales charts and helps establish the band in the dark electro scene. In 2006, Siva Six releases its second album, Black Will, which also charts and features the track “Her Eyes Black,” described as an early club hit for the band.

The band tours extensively after Black Will, with more than 30 gigs across Greece, Italy, the UK, Norway, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Japan. It also shares stages with acts including Type O Negative, Front 242, Soman, Grendel, Theatre of Tragedy, Apoptygma Berzerk, Pansonic, Die Krupps, Hocico and SITD.

Releases and labels

In 2008, Decadance Records reissues Rise New Flesh with a bonus disc titled Flesh And Will Resurrected, which features remixes from artists connected to both Rise New Flesh and Black Will, including Dark Soho, Soman, Noisufx, Blood, Aes Dana, Dopestars Inc, Mono No Aware, XP8 and Alien Vampires.

Siva Six later signs to Death Watch Asia for Japan, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, then to Alfa Matrix. In 2011 it releases its third album, The Twin Moons, with Alfa Matrix handling Europe and the USA and Death Watch Asia handling Japan and Asia. A cover version of the Blade Runner main theme brings the band wider dancefloor attention, and “Valley Of The Shadows” becomes its first video clip.

In 2013, Siva Six issues the Superstition EP on Alfa Matrix. The title track becomes the band’s top track on Spotify and Last.fm, and the release is followed by a second video clip for “Nemesis.”

Sound and collaborations

Apart from its dark electro and industrial base, the band’s sound includes orchestral and classical parts contributed by Greek avant-garde composer Chris Antoniou of Septic Flesh and Chaostar. This collaboration is described as an important part of Siva Six’s overall sound.

Live activity

The group performs at venues and festivals in Greece and abroad, including a show at WGT in Leipzig in 2014. Its live activity, airplay, remixes and interviews continue across Europe and beyond alongside chart placements in alternative scene lists.
