Silverlode

Silverlode is a UK group from Leeds, active since 2003. The band works in a folksome indie rock style and is described as a folk band in a broad sense, with a sound that draws on self-taught musicianship, DIY methods and a habit of reworking songs in different forms.

The group has a long-running writing, recording and releasing practice and keeps to a DIY work ethic that goes back to around 2001. Its music is presented as a continuing process of reinvention, with songs moving through different arrangements and approaches.

Silverlode’s material is framed around a wide thematic range, including history, the future, fantasy and everyday life. The band is also associated with the tags Leeds, Skiffle Prog pOP, LMS Artist and the grain division.
