Silent Planet are an American metalcore band that forms in 2009 in Los Angeles and Azusa, California. The group works across metalcore, progressive metalcore, melodic metalcore, djent, post-hardcore and related metal styles, and remains active.

Overview

The band takes its name from C. S. Lewis’s science-fiction novel Out of the Silent Planet. Its line-up includes Garrett Russell on vocals, Mitchell Stark on guitar, Thomas Freckleton on bass, and Alex Camarena on drums, with Spencer Keene and Nick Pocock also listed as members. Silent Planet signs to Solid State Records and UNFD.

Releases and sound

Silent Planet records two EPs and five full-length albums. Their albums include The Night God Slept (2014), Everything Was Sound (2016), When The End Began (2018), Iridescent (2021), and SUPERBLOOM (2023). They are known for an intricate sound that also uses post-rock textures.
