Sid Sriram is a singer and songwriter from Chennai, India. Born in 1990, he starts learning Indian classical vocal music from his mother at the age of three. He later also develops an interest in contemporary American singing, and as a child he listens closely to pop, R&B, hip hop and jazz. His influences include Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West.

He begins attending Berklee College of Music in 2008, where he concentrates more seriously on songwriting and original material. He describes his music as urban/indie/pop, combining R&B vocals, pop and hip hop production, lyric writing and Indian classical elements. His debut acoustic EP, Be Easy; The Acoustic Sessions, is released in 2010 and attracts more than 10,000 downloads.

Sriram also builds an online following through YouTube, where his covers and original songs gain substantial attention, and his work appears on music blogs including Good Music All Day and Fresh New Tracks. He is active as a contemporary artist associated with ambient pop and related Indian and American influences.
