Showtek

Showtek are a Dutch electronic music duo from the Netherlands, active since 2001. The group consists of brothers Sjoerd Janssen and Wouter Janssen. Their work spans hardstyle, techno, jumpstyle, Hardbass and Hardtrance, and they are also associated with big room house, Dutch house, EDM, electro house, future bass and future house.

Career

Showtek build their reputation through large-scale live shows, chart success and collaborations across the EDM scene. They perform on major stages internationally and host festival stages at events including Dance Valley and ID&T/Q-Dance.

The duo release music on F_CK THE SYSTEM. Their first artist album, Today is Tomorrow, appears in 2007, followed by Analogue Players in a Digital World in 2009, which they unveil at Amsterdam Dance Event. They also deliver the first Essential Mix by an act in their style for BBC Radio 1.

Showtek feature on the soundtrack to the film Bruno in 2007. In 2011 they begin co-producing with Tiësto, leading to the release of “Hell Yeah!” by Tiësto & Showtek, which becomes a worldwide top 10 hit. Their collaboration with Hardwell on “How We Do” reaches number one on Beatport within a week of release, and its video is described as MTV USA’s most viewed music video in the same week.

Recognition

The duo receive awards for their music and performances. They are ranked number 17 in the Top 20 of music export products of the Netherlands in 2012, and Billboard Magazine names them among the top 10 highlights of Electric Daisy Carnival 2011. They also appear alongside artists including David Guetta, Steve Angello, Tiësto and Steve Aoki.

Showtek are described as ambassadors for the global EDM scene, with a profile built on their productions, albums and live performances.
