Shout Timber
Shout Timber are a UK indie-pop group based in London and active since 2011. They form in the academic environment of University College London and build their sound around melodic indie-pop, with influences that include The Smiths, The Beatles and Vampire Weekend. Their writing also draws on vintage American literature and cinema, and their visual style takes cues from Hollywood noir.
The group name comes from an Audrey Hepburn line in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. In performance, Shout Timber are known for high-energy, suited-up sets.
They play venues including 93 Feet East, Monto Water Rats, ULU, 229 and the Lock Tavern, and they support Fair Ohs and Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun. Their debut EP, First Love, appears in 2012 as a three-track release.
