SHIP SKET

SHIP SKET is the project of Josh Griffiths, who is originally from Dorset and is based in Manchester. He lives in the city after seven years there and develops his work within Manchester’s music scene.

His debut album InitiatriX appears on Planet Mu and draws on UK styles including dubstep, grime, drill and rap. The album is also described as dealing with spirituality, fetish and hidden darkness behind outward appearances.

Griffiths says his method involves happy accidents, experimentation, resampling and pushing sounds until they break down. He describes his approach as more stylistic than technical, and his work is associated with deconstructed club, electronic, grime, dubstep and UK bass.
