Shez Raja Collective is a London-based group led by bass player Shez Raja. The project is formed around a broad jazz and funk sound, combining euphoric jazz, funk, lyrical ballads and groove-based playing. The collective has a live reputation built on energetic performances and an eclectic style.

Releases

The group has three albums. Its latest release is Mystic Radikal, issued on 33 Jazz. That album includes guest appearances from international jazz musicians Andy Sheppard and Claude Deppa.

Style and line-up

The collective presents a fusion-based approach that draws on jazz and funk. Its music is described through a range of moods and textures, from melodic ballads to heavier grooves. Shez Raja is the central figure in the project.
