Sheck Wes is a rapper from Harlem, United States, who is raised in Harlem and Milwaukee and is of Senegalese background. He emerges in the late 2010s after debuting several years earlier, and he is associated with trap and hip-hop.

Career

His debut single, “Live Sheck Wes”, is released in 2016 and gains moderate attention on SoundCloud. In 2018, he signs a joint deal with G.O.O.D. Music and Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack label, and later appears on Cactus Jack Records and G.O.O.D. Music releases.

His debut project, MUDBOY, is released in 2018. Around the same period, he features on Travis Scott’s album track “No Bystanders”, alongside Juice WRLD; the song reaches number 31 in the United States and becomes his first chart entry there.

Breakthrough

“Mo Bamba”, from MUDBOY, becomes his best-known track and later turns into a major international hit. It reaches number 5 in Canada and number 6 in the United States. Its spread is helped by an internet meme involving the animated character Know-it-all from The Polar Express, which links the track with Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE”.

Other singles

His later singles include “Do That”, “Chippi Chippi”, and “Enzo”, a collaboration with DJ Snake featuring Offset, Gucci Mane, and 21 Savage. These tracks do not enter major charts.
