She Past Away

She Past Away is a dark wave group from Bursa, Türkiye. It forms in 2006, originally as a duo of Volkan Caner on vocals and guitar and İdris Akbulut on bass. Doruk Öztürkcan later joins on electronic drums and becomes a permanent member after Akbulut leaves in 2015. The group remains active and is also associated with coldwave, gothic rock, minimal wave, post-punk and synth-pop.

Style and sound

The group mixes gothic lyrics with distorted guitars, treated vocals and heavy drum effects. Its sound draws on the atmosphere of darkwave and is linked with the work of bands such as Fields of the Nephilim, The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus and Suicide. Live shows combine the music with industrial-style visuals created by Asli Narin.

Early releases and label work

After a long period of demo recording, She Past Away works with Remoov Records in 2009 and begins work on its debut release with Süpermatik.
