She Devils
She Devils are an Argentine punk group from Banfield, Argentina, active since 1995. The band is often associated with homocore and queer punk, and its songs commonly address gay rights, non-violent action, animal rights, ecology, DIY ethics and feminism.
Line-up and background
The group consists of Patricia Pietrafesa on bass and vocals, Pilar on guitar and Lula on drums. Pietrafesa is also known for her work as bass player in the punk band Cadaveres de Niños and for publishing Resistencia, described as the first punk fanzine in Argentina.
Releases
The band’s recording debut is a split 7-inch with Fun People titled El Aborto Ilegal Asesina my Libertad in 1997. Their first album, La Piel Dura, follows in 1999.
Belladona Festival
She Devils also organise the Belladona Festival, a festival for female artists that has taken place at least once a year since 1997. It brings together female bands, visual artists, film directors and others presenting their work.
