SHDW

SHDW is a German techno artist from Stuttgart, best known as Marco Blaesi. He works with his studio partner Obscure Shape and is associated with the From Another Mind project, which begins as a club night in Stuttgart and develops into a record label.

From Another Mind

SHDW and Obscure Shape found From Another Mind in April 2014 to present artists they like in their hometown. The label follows in 2015 with its first record, and the Nachtblende EP brings the project wide attention in techno circles. Its tracks receive support from DJs, bloggers and critics.

Style and DJ sets

His DJ style combines Acid, Rave and EBM influences with a more dramatic techno sound. He is described as adaptable across a night, working effectively in the opening, middle or peak-time slot. His record collection reflects a broad knowledge of electronic music, and he moves through different eras of the genre in his sets.

Collaborations and remixes

SHDW and Obscure Shape continue to work together on releases for From Another Mind, including a third EP and a remix package featuring earlier guests from their Stuttgart and Munich nights. The pair also take on remix work for Dynamic Reflection and Soma, reinterpreting tracks by Abstract Division and Monoloc.
