Shawlin is a Brazilian rap and hip hop artist from Rio de Janeiro. He starts recording at 15, when he cuts his first track, “Aliança”, which appears on the 1999 compilation Zoeira Hip Hop.

He joins the collective Quinto Andar and stands out on the group album Piratão, released in 2005. Before that, he issues the solo EP E a Vida Continua. His debut album, Ruas Vazias, arrives in 2007 after he closes a long-running earlier project.

Ruas Vazias includes a guest appearance from Portuguese rapper Sam the Kid on “Amigos”. On “Neblina”, Shawlin addresses cannabis use and argues for its legalisation. In 2010, he appears on the TV Cultura programme Manos e Minas.

His discography includes E a Vida Continua and Ruas Vazias.
