Sharp Pins

Sharp Pins is the sixties-influenced lo-fi jangle pop project of Chicago songwriter, musician and singer Kai Slater. Slater first gains wider attention through the Chicago indie rock band Lifeguard, before using Sharp Pins as a solo project for material rooted in power pop, lo-fi, jangle pop, indie pop and mod influences.

From 2023 onwards, Sharp Pins releases a series of singles and three albums: Turtle Rock (2023), Radio DDR (2025) and Balloon Balloon Balloon (2025). The project is based in Chicago.
