Sharkbait are a San Francisco industrial group. They are active from 1986 to 1996 and are associated with industrial and industrial rock. The group includes Kimba Anderson.
Style and instrumentation
Sharkbait work in a heavily percussion-led industrial style. Their music uses multiple percussionists alongside Taiko drums, sheets of metal, oil drums, large metal springs and other tribal percussion instruments. Over this rhythmic base, they add layers of noise, distorted and manipulated instruments, tape loops, samples and vocals from multiple singers, including both male and female voices.
Live performances
The group is best known for its live shows, which combine music with performance art. These performances include sex acts, a fire breather, costumes and nudity, often in combination.
