Shamrock

Shamrock is the name used by more than one music act. One is a nine-piece band from Rijeka in Croatia, formed in 2007, who play Irish and Celtic folk-punk rock. Their first concert under the Shamrock name takes place at the Kastav Rock-Festival in Kastav in 2008. Their first album, ..otom potom.., appears in 2008 and combines traditional songs with original material. The band’s influences include The Dubliners, Wolfe Tones, Orthodox Celts, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, and Irish and Slavic folk music.

Another act named Shamrock is a South African independent artist, known as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer, and performer. This project works on live guitar performances over house music DJ sets and on productions with Andy Compton of The Rurals. An album titled Unapolgetic African Sounds is credited to this artist.

A further Shamrock act is associated with the Philippines, where the band gains popularity through theme songs for television series such as Captain Barbel, Jumong, and Jewel in the Palace, and continues to record theme songs for GMA Network shows.
