Shakey is a rap and electronic project name used for more than one act. One form of Shakey is an alias of James Boyd, a Washington, DC-based producer who works across a wide range of styles, including drum and bass, breakcore, IDM, industrial, classical and downtempo. He starts producing as a junior in high school after a friend brings an old Korg synthesizer, and he later begins releasing music at 21. After a break from production, he returns in 2004 and issues a run of releases on ECDNB, Bloodborne Audio, Post-Hypnotic Suggestion and Scythian Recordings before stepping back from production in early 2008.

Shakey is also a group from Louisville, Kentucky, made up of George Wethington, who is also associated with Speed To Roam, and Petor Townsend, who is linked with Bonnie Billy Band, STR, King Kong, Human Bell and Nathan Bell Band.
