Shaded is the solo techno project of Cardiff-born drum and bass producer Paul White. It begins after his earlier work as part of SHDWPLAY, the duo he forms with Shoddy Lynn.

Career

Before going solo, White and Shoddy Lynn release four EPs as SHDWPLAY on Dubfire’s SCI+TEC Digital Audio Imprint. The duo’s tracks include “Time Drip” and “Drug of Choice”, and their music appears in DJ sets by Richie Hawtin and Dubfire. They become closely associated with the SCI+TEC label.

White creates Shaded in 2012 as a way to pursue a more individual and flexible sound. Under this name he develops a live techno act and continues to perform alongside electronic musicians and DJs. His debut solo EP, Be My Binge, reaches the top of the charts shortly after release.
