Serious Black

Serious Black is an international melodic power metal project formed in 2014. The group brings together musicians with backgrounds in several other metal acts, including Urban Breed on vocals, Roland Grapow on guitars, Dominik Sebastian on guitars, Mario Lochert on bass, Jan Vacik on keyboards and orchestral parts, and Thomen Stauch on drums and percussion.

Line-up and background

Urban Breed is also associated with Trail of Murder and is a former member of Bloodbound. Roland Grapow is known for his work with Masterplan and Helloween. Dominik Sebastian is linked to Edenbridge, Mario Lochert to Emergency Gate and Visions of Atlantis, Jan Vacik to Dreamscape, and Thomen Stauch to Savage Circus and Blind Guardian.

Style

The project is associated with power metal, melodic power metal, melodic hard rock, speed metal and heavy metal.

Other use of the name

The same name also refers to a two-piece noise-rock band from Exeter made up of nicky and marek, described as a bass-and-drums duo.
