Sebo K

Sebo K is a German DJ and producer associated with minimal, minimal techno, tech house, techno and electronic music. He begins his DJ career in Berlin in the early 1990s, playing at Alec Empire’s Bass Terror nights, which are described as Berlin’s first UK-style breakbeat parties. By the mid-1990s he develops an interest in Chicago house and Detroit techno, and by the turn of the decade he is playing regularly at major clubs across Berlin.

He becomes closely associated with the mobilee label, where releases help establish both his profile and the label’s early reputation. One of his early mobilee tracks, “Rancho Relaxo”, made with Anja Schneider, becomes a notable release. His production work is described as comparatively sparse, but his recordings are consistently well regarded, including the track “Diva”.

Production and remixes

His mix CD Back Up Vol. 01 shows his approach to DJ mixing, moving between minimal techno and classic deep house. He also remixes for labels and artists including Poker Flat, Mule Electronic, Radioslave and Efdemin. His tracks also appear on compilations and mixes by DJs such as M.A.N.D.Y., Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Dennis Ferrer, Loco Dice and Dixon.

Style and DJ work

Sebo K is known for combining deep, soulful house with minimal techno and for moving between those styles without a clear boundary between them. He holds a residency at Berlin’s Watergate and also performs at clubs and venues internationally.
