Seb Fontaine

Seb Fontaine is a London-based English DJ and producer associated with dance, house and progressive house. Born Jean Sebastian Fontaine, he starts out on the London club circuit and becomes a regular figure in UK dance music.

Early DJ work and club residencies

Fontaine plays his first DJ set at Crazy Larry’s on Kings Road in London. He then moves on to a residency at the Fridge in Brixton in 1989. After working at other London clubs, he becomes a resident DJ at Cream, one of the UK’s major club nights, and also appears at its Ibiza events.

Radio work

In 2000, Fontaine joins BBC Radio 1 as a specialist dance DJ. He presents a weekly show and also broadcasts from Radio 1 outside broadcasts in Ibiza. He leaves the station in 2003.

Recordings and releases

Fontaine releases a series of mix albums and compilations, including the The Prototype series, Horizons, Perfecto Presents: Seb Fontaine, Perfecto Presents: Type 01 and Type 02. His compilation releases include A Retrospective Of House '91 - '95, Vol. 2, Ministry Of Sound Presents: One Half Of A Whole Decade, An Introspective Of House: 1st Dimension, An Introspective Of House: 2nd Dimension, An Introspective Of House: Platinum, Cream Anthems, Cream Ibiza: Departures, Cream Resident and Creamfields.

Remix work and collaborations

He also works as a remix producer, including on tracks by the Outhere Brothers.
