Sean Solomon is a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist who works across indie music and hand-drawn animation. He is known for combining the two disciplines in the same project, and his visual work uses a hand-drawn style that is described as naive and colourful, with an appearance that recalls children’s book illustration while often addressing adult themes.

Music career

Solomon first gains recognition as a member of the post-punk band Moaning, which is signed to Sub Pop. He later works as a solo artist and is signed to ANTI-. His debut solo album, The World Is Not Good Enough, is scheduled for release in 2026. His music is associated with indie, indie rock and emo.

Visual work and animation

Alongside his music, Solomon directs hand-drawn animation and develops original content for major networks including HBO Max and Adult Swim. He also directs music videos for other artists, including Run The Jewels. His work often explores humour, anxiety and the surreal aspects of modern life.

Live performances

In live settings, Solomon often integrates custom animations into his performances using stacks of vintage TV monitors and VHS tapes to synchronise the visuals with the songs.
