Screaming Females

Screaming Females are a US rock band from New Brunswick, New Jersey. The group forms in 2006 and consists of Marissa Paternoster on vocals and guitar, King Mike on bass, and Jarrett Dougherty on drums. It is a DIY punk rock band with punk, alternative rock, garage rock, indie rock and lo-fi elements, and it appears on labels including Screaming Females Music and Don Giovanni Records.

Releases

The band releases seven full-length albums: Baby Teeth, What If Someone Is Watching Their T.V.?, Power Move, Castle Talk, Ugly, Rose Mountain and All At Once. It also issues Singles, a collection of songs drawn from 7-inch vinyl releases, and the live album Live At The Hideout.

Live work

Screaming Females tour and play with a range of other bands, including Jeff: The Brotherhood, Little Lungs, Cheeky, The Ergs, Shellshag and The Measure (SA). They also open for acts such as Throwing Muses, The Dead Weather, Arctic Monkeys and Ted Leo & The Pharmacists.

Activity

The group is active until 2023, and announces its breakup in December of that year.
