Scordatura

Scordatura are a Scottish brutal death metal and death metal group from Glasgow. The band forms in 2007 and is active from 2007 onwards.

Formation and style

Scordatura is a five-piece death metal band based in Glasgow. The final line-up comes together in 2008. Their music develops over time from an early sound into something tighter and more technical across later releases.

Early releases and live activity

The band’s first gig takes place in Glasgow alongside the release of a two-track demo called Garrote. In November 2009, Scordatura releases its first EP, Open Skies, recorded by Pete Sneddon at Sonic Temple Studios. The group also books a Scottish tour to support the EP.

Scordatura play support shows for Aborted, Cryptopsy, Salt the Wound, See You Next Tuesday and Beneath the Massacre, among others. These appearances take place in Glasgow venues including the G2 and the Cathouse.

Further plans

The band writes material for a full-length album and also prepares a three-track pre-production demo connected to that release.
