Scion

Scion is a German techno duo made up of Peter Kuschnereit and René Löwe. Kuschnereit is also known as Substance, while Löwe is also known as Vainqueur. The pair work in dub techno and minimal techno, and are associated with the labels and artists around that scene.

Releases and collaborations

Among Scion’s best-known productions is Emerge, a 12-inch released in 1995 on Chain Reaction. They also issue a DJ mix for Tresor built around works by Basic Channel, which becomes one of their noted recordings. In 2006 they come together again to start Scion Versions, a label focused on dub techno releases.
