Science Made Us Robots

Science Made Us Robots are a punk band from Scotland, formed in 2012 by school friends Fin Ferrol and Paul Herring. Ferrol plays guitar and sings, while Herring plays drums and sings. The group plays fast punk with a strong influence from NOFX, Bad Religion, Rancid and The Offspring, and uses vocals with a UK slant.

Line-up changes and early activity

The band begins as a trio when Stuart Jackson joins on bass, but he leaves after the first few gigs and is replaced by Chris Goodman, formerly of King-Blues. The band tours the UK extensively during 2012 and 2013, even as Herring moves to Scotland in mid-2012, which creates logistical difficulties for the group.

Debut album

By the end of 2013, Goodman leaves to focus on other projects, and Ferrol and Herring choose to concentrate on recording their debut album rather than continuing to tour. After trying several studios, they work with Daly George of the UK punk band Drones, and Herring takes on bass duties. Their debut album, Rats & Swans, is released in May 2014.
