Schwein is a Japanese industrial rock group formed by members of KMFDM, PIG and Buck-Tick. The core line-up brings together Raymond Watts and 今井寿, who have previously worked together in Schaft, with 櫻井敦司 of Buck-Tick and Sascha Konietzko of KMFDM. The group is active from 2000 to the present.

History

Schwein releases its album Schweinstein in 2001, followed by the remix EP Son Of Schweinstein. The group tours Japan in the summer of 2001. Konietzko does not take part in the tour because of illness, and also says he stays away so he can concentrate on KMFDM.

Related projects and personnel

Raymond Watts and 今井寿’s previous collaboration in Schaft is part of the group’s background, and Schwein’s membership connects several established Japanese and international industrial acts. The name also appears in connection with a separate session-band project formed out of UNINSTALL in Nagoya, involving former members of hurts, Shuft and ℃ with Takeru on drums.
