Scamp

Scamp is a Danish metal band from Denmark, identified with death metal, groove metal and thrash metal. The group begins as a project formed by guitarist Mads Christensen and drummer Morten Christensen, before expanding to include guitarist Kristian Bruun and vocalist Mikael Rise.

The band releases its first EP, The New Groove Complex, and later follows it with re-draft, which is recorded at Jacob Hansen Studios and mixed at ZigZound by Ziggy. That release appears in 2005 and helps establish Scamp as one of the more respected unsigned bands in the Danish metal scene.

Scamp has played with acts including Mnemic, Mercenary, Stonegard, Darkane and Evergrey. Its music is described through technical, highly rhythmic playing that keeps a groove, with melodic passages adding atmosphere. The band is also associated with comparisons to Meshuggah, Fear Factory and Chimaira.
