Saycet

Saycet is the solo project of Pierre Lefeuvre, a French composer and producer from Paris. His early listening includes Boards of Canada and Múm, and those influences sit behind a sound that moves between ambient, IDM, electronica and experimental pop. He works in French electronic music and is based in France.

Albums and sound

His first solo album, One Day at Home, contains nine atmospheric tracks. The record draws on abstract landscapes and fairy-tale imagery, and it receives attention for its balance of fragility and tension, with themes of melancholy and solitude. It also attracts special notice in the French music press, including TRAX and Les Inrockuptibles.

For the second album, Through the Window, Saycet works with vocalist Phoene Somsavath. Their year-long collaboration leads to a more vocal-led form of experimental pop, built from discreet vocal samples, waltzing melodies, layered keyboards and detailed electronics.

Live work

Saycet’s live setup also includes VJ Zita Cochet. Her video projections are used to emphasise the cinematic side of the music, with colourful shapes, bright lights and shifting imagery that interact with the melodies.
