Sax

Sax are a Czech thrash metal group from Brno, active from 1985 to 1994. The band forms around guitarist and singer Luboš Kozdera, with the line-up settling in 1989. Sax become part of the Czech metal underground and are associated with thrash metal and speed metal.

Early recordings and debut

Sax record their first demo, With Satan in the Body, in 1989. The following year they issue a second demo, Zone of Fear. In 1991 they release their first album, Zóna strachu, on Monitor.

Albums and later work

After the demo Thrash of Moravia, the band records a second album, Moravské nářez, in 1993. The group also releases Válka nervů in 1992, under the name Sax Piják and without Kozdera in the line-up. Their final release is a compilation issued in 2009, which brings together material from their career.
