SAUNA YOUTH
Sauna Youth is a UK post-punk band active since 2009, based in London. The group features Jen Calleja and Christopher James Murphy, and its line-up also includes Richard Phoenix and Lindsay Corstorphine. It forms from musicians previously involved in The Steal and Captain Everything.
Releases and activity
The band self-records and self-releases its own music, a practice it continues from 2010 onwards. Its early output includes the demo tape Planet Sounds, the self-released single Youth, the cassette Mad Mind and the 2011 release Lists. Its debut album, Dreamlands, appears in 2012 on Gringo Records and Faux Discx.
Sauna Youth also releases the 7-inch False Jesii Pt. II in 2013 on Static Shock Records. Its first release for Upset the Rhythm is Split, issued alongside the band’s alter-ego project Monotony. The second full-length album, Distractions, follows in 2015.
