Saturnian

Saturnian are a UK metal band active since 2010. They play a form of extreme symphonic metal that combines black metal, symphonic metal and gothic metal elements with dramatic arrangements and a theatrical presentation.

Style and sound

The band’s music is built around fast riffing, heavy rhythmic work and a symphonic layer intended to give the songs a large-scale, cinematic feel. Their approach also includes choral vocals, soaring soprano parts and Gregorian chant, alongside guitar, bass and drums.

Live performance

Saturnian present their live shows as a theatrical experience rather than a straightforward metal set. The band uses a mix of voices, instrumental performance and visual presentation as part of that format.
