Satsuma

Satsuma are a London five-piece formed in 2005. The band’s songs are written by lead singer and keyboardist Ivy Ngeow, and are described as combining modern and eclectic songwriting with urban grooves and lyrics.

Line-up

The group includes Ivy Ngeow on lead vocals and keyboards, Martha Valentine on vocals and percussion, Simon Anderson on guitar, Nigel Owen on bass, and Gary Clark on drums.

Recordings

In 2005, Satsuma record a four-track EP titled My Living Room. They record another four tracks in 2007.

Live work

The band play headline shows at London venues including The Marquee Club, The Troubadour Club, The Water Rats, The Betsey Trotwood, Plan B and Clockwork.

Ivy Ngeow

Ivy Ngeow is born and raised in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. She begins music education at the age of four and continues to write, record and perform in a range of settings including bands, readings, open mics, projects and sessions. She also wins the Middlesex University Literary Prize in 2005. Her writing and lyrics draw heavily on urban life, city dwellers and city culture.
