Satsangi

Satsangi are a UK-based act led by Sujatha Menon on vocals and words. The line-up also includes John Herbert and Jon Washington on guitar, Simon Demaine on bass, Richard Heath on saxophone and keys, and Robert Barrett on drums and percussion.

Style and description

The group are described as “spunky new wave” and Menon’s singing is compared by critics to a wide range of artists, including Dolores O’Riordan, Grace Slick, Sinead O’Connor, Bjork, Karen O, Tori Amos and Regina Spektor.

Broadcast and live activity

Satsangi have been featured on the BBC Asian Network, including an appearance on the Bobby Friction show. Their videos are broadcast on MTV networks, and they perform across the UK as both headliners and support acts. They have supported Fields and The Kills.
