Sarkom
Sarkom is a Norwegian black metal group from Lørenskog, active since 2002. The band forms around Renton and Unsgaard, with Sagstad joining after the first songs are written. Its music is associated with black metal, with themes of anti-religion, blasphemy, death and hatred.
Early recordings and first album
After the first material is written, Sarkom records a four-track promo. A demo circulates in 2004 and brings favourable responses, along with a few small record deal offers. The band signs to Twilight-Vertrieb in 2005 and records its first full-length album, Aggravation of Mind, which is released in 2006 and receives good reviews.
Live activity and second album
Later in 2006, Sarkom adds a live guitarist and bassist. Its first live appearance takes place that summer at a metal festival in Germany alongside acts including Master, Helheim and Menhir. The band then tours Europe for 11 dates with Koldbrann and Negator in October. In 2007 it plays a limited number of concerts, mainly in Norway, while working on its second full-length album, Bestial Supremacy. That record is released through Twilight-Vertrieb in November 2007.
