Sante is a German house music DJ and producer. She is from Germany and works across afro house, deep house, deep tech, EDM, hip hop and house, with tags that also place her in minimal, minimal techno and electronic music.

Born Genevieve Yaa Asantewa Ofori, she is born in Brent in North London and moves to Ghana at the age of four. She grows up in a musical family: her father is one of the founding members and lead vocalist of the group Blackbeat, and her mother sings in church choirs. She also takes piano lessons from a young age, which helps shape her approach to music.

Early musical development

Sante starts writing her own songs at 13 and performs at school variety shows. Her early musical interests are influenced by classic soul artists including Roberta Flack, Dionne Warwick and Lionel Richie. She also performs cover versions of songs by Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige, which helps build her vocal ability and public profile.

Songwriting and solo work

Her songs draw on her own experiences, with lyrics based on both happy and difficult periods in her life. As a solo writer and performer, she records material including Still, Misconception, Perfect Tragedy and a song written for her mother.

Pakof3 and live performances

At the age of 20, she relocates to the UK and forms the group Pakof3 with former secondary school friends Mr. Max and Kay B. The group performs at Ghana Independence Day events, clubs in England and Ghana youth parties. Alongside this, she continues developing her solo writing and performs at open mic sessions, Ghanaian showcases and Poetry in Motion at the Motion Bar in Embankment, London.
