(Sandy) Alex G, the stage name of Alexander Giannascoli, is an American indie singer-songwriter from Havertown, United States, based in Philadelphia. He works in bedroom pop, indie folk, indie rock, lo-fi and singer-songwriter styles.

Career

He begins his career with DIY self-releases on Bandcamp, where he builds an early audience. His label debut is DSU, released in 2014 on Orchid Tapes. That album brings him wider attention and critical notice.

He later signs with Lucky Number, which reissues earlier releases including Rules and Trick, both from 2012. In 2015, he signs with Domino Recording Company and releases his sixth studio album, Beach Music.

He follows this with Rocket in 2017, an album that also receives acclaim and recognition. His stage name is listed as Alex G, with the form (Sandy) Alex G used from 2017 to 2020.
